Capitola is just a few miles from Santa Cruz, on the California coast, at the northern end of Monterey Bay. This was taken on a mid-July morning, before the clouds cleared. I was fortunate that a break in the clouds came at just the right time to illuminate the colorful pastel apartments on the beach. Just as quickly as it came, it left, leaving overcast skies for the rest of the day.
